Short-tailed Opossum Environment

Short-tailed opossums are naturally arboreal and so enjoy a habitat with allowance made for height and climbing opportunities, a well furnished 3ft vivarium makes a good environment for a pet short-tailed opossum.

Their tail is prehensile and so is used for balance as they climb. They also use it for caring nesting material and can create some elaborate nesting balls.

A hollow log or ceramic plant pot can make excellent hiding places as well as good nesting opportunities.
